He was a representative of the [[7th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party|7th]], [[8th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party|8th]], and [[19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party]].<ref name="ra"/> He was a delegate to the [[3rd National People's Congress]] and a member of the Standing Committee of the [[6th National People's Congress|6th]] and [[7th National People's Congress]].<ref name="ra"/>

== Biography ==

In the spring of 1935, he participated in the establishment of the CCP West Shandong Special Committee and served as its [[Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary|party secretary]].<ref name="ra"/>

Beginning from the winter of 1945, he successively served as [[Chinese Communist Party Deputy Committee Secretary|deputy party secretary]] of the CCP Hebei-Shandong-Henan Committee and deputy political commissar of the Hebei-Shandong-Henan Military Region.<ref name="ra"/>

In 1949, he joined the 5th Corps of the 2nd Field Army in [[southwest China]] and later served as first deputy party secretary of the CCP Guizhou Provincial Committee.<ref name="ra"/>

During the [[Cultural Revolution]], he suffered [[political persecution]] and was sent to the [[May Seventh Cadre Schools]] to do farm works.<ref name="ra"/> In May 1973, he was reinstated as deputy director of Beijing Municipal Revolutionary Committee and was admitted to member of the CCP Beijing Municipal Committee, the city's top authority.<ref name="ra"/> He became vice minister of Light Industry in August 1980.<ref name="ra"/> He retired in May 1996.<ref name="ra"/>

On 6 January 2018, he died in [[Beijing]], at the age of 103.<ref name="ra"/>
