*Oppose per WP:CONCISE and consistency with other articles, which generally treat the matter as by state by default. See Anti-Religious Campaign in communist Romania, USSR anti-religious campaign (1921–1928), Anti-Catholicism in the United Kingdom, etc. Yes, there's articles like Four Buddhist Persecutions in China (which arguably should be renamed as whether this was really "China" is an interesting question), but that would be an argument for something like "Antireligious campaigns in the People's Republic of China" if there's worries about confusion with past states. *I read the title as "campaigns against religion belief and practice in general in China", in which case I think it is precise enough. But it may be that that is not clear, since there have been many campaigns against particular religions in Chinese history. The Huichang persecution of Buddhism, for example, targeted all religions of foreign origin. *Oppose per WP:READERSFIRST. Wikipedia's audience would likely be looking for the current title as the primary topic. Dympies (talk) 02:59, 6 May 2024 (UTC) |
