He then received his [[Master of Arts|M.A.]] in [[philosophy]] from the [[Catholic University of America]] in 1978, followed by two degrees in [[political science]] from [[Harvard University]]: an A.M. in 1979 and a [[Doctor of Philosophy|Ph.D.]] in 1981. In 1985, he received his [[Juris Doctor]] ''cum laude'' from the [[University of Chicago Law School]], where he was a member of the [[Order of the Coif]] as well as executive editor of the ''[[University of Chicago Law Review]].''
