The Trial of Dedan Kimathi is a play written by a Kenyan playwright Ngugi wa Thiong’o and Mugo in 1976. This story is mainly about the trials of kimathi, who the people see as a national hero, kimathi is against the government of the white and he is subject to trial with the aim of destroying his courage and for him to disclose the remaining people who support his resolution against the whites.
== Plot ==
The trials of Dedan kimathi were four different trials with the colonial ruler. Kimathi is capture and the colonial authorities have started that the trials will be fair but this to prevent threat from Kimathi
The first trial Kimathi meets with Shaw Henderson, kimathi is told to pled for his life and that he will be released but he rejects and said he will fight for the freedom he dreams
The second trial was when Kimathi meet with the delegation, the banker states that the economy of Kenya grew because of the colonial government but Kimathi attacks him back that they are one’s destroying the economy and can not be trusted.
The third trial Kimathi meets with the priest,businessman and politician. The all came to tempt him to surrender and after their words he is tempted to surrender, being in the state of nostalgia but rejected their offer.
The four trial Kimathi meets with Shaw Henderson who tortured him to reveal the identity of his fellow resolutionist but he disagrees and eventually suffers death.
