== Early life and education ==
Beason moved to Portland around 2000 to attend [[Lewis & Clark College]] where he received his [[Bachelor's degree]] in [[Communication studies|Communications]].<ref name=":0" /> He graduated [[Magna cum Laude]].

== Career ==
Beason began his career in 2003 as a Public Involvement Specialist for [[Metro (Oregon regional government)|Metro]], a regional government in the [[Portland metropolitan area, Oregon|Portland area]]. In 2005, he was hired to serve as a Senior Policy Director for then [[Portland, Oregon City Council|Portland City Commissioner]] [[Sam Adams (Oregon politician)|Sam Adams]].<ref>{{Cite web |title=Jesse Beason - LinkedIn |url=https://www.linkedin.com/in/jessebeason/ |website=LinkedIn}}</ref> he served in this role until 2008 when he began working in the nonprofit industry.
