He borned in Basra (or Ahvaz in some sources), maybe in [[639]]. He was a camel shepherd, but when he met [[Mukhtar al-Thaqafi|Mukhtar]] in [[659]], he joined to his army to help [[Husayn ibn Ali]] and fight [[Umayyad Caliphate|Umayyad army]], but when Husayn was killed in 680 by the Umayyad army, they decided to kill the murderers which killed Husayn ibn Ali and his family and friends. He fight with Tawwabin in [[Battle of Ayn al-Warda]] during [[Tawwabin uprising]]. And he fight with Mukhtar during his revulation. He killed many murderers which participated in the killing of Husayn ibn Ali, such as: Khawli bin Yazid Al-Asbahi<ref>البداية والنهاية – ابن كثير - الجزء الثامن - مقتل مقتل خولي بن يزيد الأصبحي الذي احتز رأس الحسين</ref>, Zaid bin Raqqad Al-Janabi<ref>الكامل في التاريخ - ابن الأثير - ج 4 - الصفحة 243</ref> and many others.
